"Calves With a Future"
Founding father of Seubert Calf Ranches, Francis J. Seubert (right), reflects on his business.
"I remember back in 1952. We picked out 16 dairy calves and loaded the old 1950 International with plenty of fresh water and feed. I checked the ventilation to make sure it would not be drafty on the calves and they were all bedded down properly."
"Delores, my wife, had packed a lunch, some road maps, and I was off to North Dakota with our first shipment."
"By 1953 we had sold 700 calves. Now (yr1974) we're selling over 22,000 calves a year and still growing."
Terry Seubert (above) worked along side his father since the time he was 8yrs old, helping expand and grow the future of Seubert Calf Ranches.
Michael Seubert began his dream in 1985 by raising hogs on his family farm, following in his families footsteps with their passion for livestock and business. By 1987 Mike started his own livestock buying firm and in 1998 Michael and Julie started the business out of their home and by 2000 they built their home office on Hwy 13 in Dorchester, WI. Since this time, the business has continued to grow with the 4th generation!
